May/June 2019
This 2018-2019 school year has seemed to go very quickly. The official last day for all students will be Friday, June 14th (early release @ 11:00).
As we wrap up the final weeks of the year, it is important for students to remain focused and to finish strong. Maintaining solid study habits will set your child up for success now and also leading into next year. If study habits and/or organization have presented challenges this year, now is the perfect time to try some new strategies before we break for summer. Sometimes, identifying those personal strategies is a matter of trial and error until you find what works best.
The end of the year brings some significant events including the May MCAS testing for math next week and science the following week, our Spring Concert on May 28th, Freedom Trail trips for grade 5, and the 8th grade Moving On activities. The grade 8 Moving On ceremony will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, June 13th. Further communication will be sent to parents of 5th and 8th graders as those events draw near.
Lastly, our PTO is again working with the 1st Day School Supplies program to offer one step, online purchase of school supply kits for next year. These kits are customized for each of our grade levels and participation is entirely optional. Information regarding this program was sent home previously and the ordering deadline is June 30. https://www.1stdayschoolsupplies.com/
