On behalf of the staff, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Lynnfield Public Schools.  It is a privilege to serve the Lynnfield Community as educational leaders. Our goals focus on our students and their families.

For me, the most important qualities of our teaching community are an undeniable commitment to the children whom we are privileged to serve; a passion for the work we call teaching, coaching, mentoring and leading; an attitude that portrays optimism and confidence that we can, and will, find ways to help all students have opportunities to be successful; and lastly, a personal gratification and sense of honor that we are Lynnfield Public School teachers
- Jane Tremblay, Superintendent

Dear Parents and Guardians, It is time to begin planning bus transportation for the 2019-2020 school year. You MUST fill out this survey in order to ensure a seat for your child(ren) who are eligible to ride the bus. If you do not fill out the survey we will not be able to assign a bus stop for your child. If you know in advance that your child(ren) will not be riding the bus you still must fill out the survey. Filling out the survey will allow us to know how many children we can accommodate who are not eligible for bus transportation. Additionally, you must also fill out the survey if you are interested in the Pay to Ride option. The Pay to Ride option is available for students who are not currently eligible for bussing per the School Committee guidelines. After receiving this information we can begin the extensive process of mapping out efficient bus routes. If there are extra seats on any of our busses, we will be able to offer the Pay to Ride option for those specific routes. Please complete the attached very short survey for each child in your family who is currently eligible or will be eligible for bussing due to changing schools. This survey will close on May 10, 2019. Feel free to contact Morgan DeShaw if you have any questions. Email: Deshawm@lynnfield.k12.ma.us Athletic Department: 781-334-5820 x1112 We thank you in advance for your cooperation and assistance. During the week of April 29, 2019 the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Office of Public School Monitoring (PSM) will conduct a Tiered Focused Monitoring Review of Lynnfield Public Schools. The Office of Public School Monitoring visits each district and charter school every three years to monitor compliance with federal and state special education and civil rights regulations. Areas of review related to special education include outreach, professional licensure, special education facilities, and program evaluation. Areas of review related to civil rights include bullying, student discipline, physical restraint, and equal access to school programs for all students. In addition to the onsite visit, parent outreach is an important part of the review process. The review chairperson from the Office of Public School Monitoring will send all parents of students with disabilities an online survey that focuses on key areas of their child’s special education program. Survey results will contribute to the development of a report. During the onsite review, the Office of Public School Monitoring will interview the chairperson(s) of the district’s Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC). Other onsite activities may include interviews of district staff and administrators and onsite observations. Parents and other individuals may call Deborah Conover, Public School Monitoring Chairperson, at (781) 338- 3736 to request a telephone interview. If an individual requires an accommodation, such as translation, to participate in an interview, the Department will make the necessary arrangements. Within approximately 60 business days after the onsite visit, the review chairperson will provide the district with a report with information about areas in which the district meets or exceeds regulatory requirements and areas in which the district requires assistance to correct or improve practices. The public will be able to access the report at www.doe.mass.edu/pqa/review/cpr/reports/.

The Lynnfield Board of Health will be offering the flu shot ( NO flu mist ) to all staff and interested family members on the dates listed below: Friday September 22 Summer Street School 7:00 am Clinic Thursday September 28 High School 7:15 am Teachers Room Thursday October 5 Middle School 7:00 am Guidance Conference Room Note: Due to a limited supply of flu vaccine; the Board of Health Nurse can only commit to the above schedule at this time. School personnel can receive the vaccine at any of listed the schools. Please contact the respective school nurse prior to the scheduled date. If additional vaccine becomes available, we will host a clinic at Huckleberry Hill School in October. There are two payment options for the vaccine: 1. The flu vaccine is covered by the majority of insurance plans except Aetna and United Healthcare. If you choose the insurance option, The Lynnfield Health Department 2017-18 Insurance Information Form must be completed in full and signed along with a copy of your insurance card in the space provided on the front page of the form. The forms are available in your school clinic or you can click on the 2017 Flu Insurance Forms link on the district website. The school nurse can assist you with completing the form ahead of the scheduled clinic. 2. If you are not using the insurance option, the cost is $20.00 payable on the day of the clinic by cash or check to the Lynnfield Board of Health. Please let your school nurse know your interest in receiving the flu shot, as well as which clinic you plan to attend. I encourage you to consider this opportunity; it is convenient, cost effective and has potential to keep you healthy this winter!
